Town Hall Meeting Use of Title and CMPC Certification Process as it Relates to the Mental Performance Consulting Profession in Canada
As the Canadian Sport Psychology Association continues to grow, there is valuable information we would like to provide to CSPA members through occasional Town Hall Meetings. At the upcoming Town Hall Meeting, we will focus on two main areas that our Managing Council committees have been working on.
First, the correct nomination that professionals in Canada use to identify their services is important to maintain credibility in delivering services to Canadian athletes, coaches and parents. This session will provide information on the correct use of title for members of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association. Second, the CSPA has been investigating the CMPC certification process that has been developed through AASP and the possibility of aligning with AASP on this initiative to further advance the profession in Canada. This Town Hall will provide members with information about the process, next steps, and costs/benefits of the certification process for CSPA members.

Utilisation du titre et processus de certification CMPC se rapportant à la profession de consultant en performance mentale au Canada
L’Association canadienne de psychologie du sport continue de grandir et nous aimerions vous fournir des renseignements importants lors de rencontres d’information occasionnelles. Lors de la prochaine rencontre d’information, nous nous concentrerons sur les deux thématiques principales sur lesquelles nos comités du conseil de gestion ont travaillé dernièrement.
Premièrement, la façon dont les professionnels au Canada nomment leurs services est importante afin de maintenir notre crédibilité dans la prestation de services aux athlètes, entraîneurs et parents canadiens. Cette rencontre d’information fournira des renseignements sur l’utilisation appropriée du titre pour les membres de l'Association canadienne de psychologie du sport. Deuxièmement, l’ACPS a étudié le processus de certification CMPC qui a été développé par AASP ainsi que la possibilité de s’aligner avec AASP sur cette initiative afin de faire progresser davantage la profession au Canada. Cette rencontre d’information fournira des renseignements sur le processus, les prochaines étapes et les coûts/avantages du processus de certification pour les membres de l’ACPS.
