Amplifying Neurodivergent Voices in Sport
The EDIA committee is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, July 15th at 2:00-3:30 pm EST/ 11 am-12: 30 pm PST on the topic of Neurodivergent voices in sport. Our panelist Dr. William James Harvey is the director of the CHAMPS physical activity lab at McGill university. CHAMPS stands for choices in health, action, motivation, pedagogy and skills and operates in partnership with community stakeholders that specifically work with and empower people with disabilities. Our next panelist, Rowan Harris is a senior goal keeper for the women’s national field hockey team. Rowan has made over 100 appearances for Canada and won 2 national championships with the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds. Rowan shares her insight of navigating the challenges of high performance sport as someone with ADHD.
