Membership Types

Benefits, Rates, and Application

01  Professional

CSPA professional members are individuals who practice as a Certified Mental Performance Consultants (CMPC). They have professional liability insurance either through the CSPA (see Insurance page for information) or another organization offering a $2,000,000 coverage plan.

Application Fee: $30 CAD

Annual Membership Dues: $95 CAD 

03  Apprentice

Apprentice Members are early career professionals who have completed formal academic training, have not been a student for over 12 months, and have not completed the supervised practice hours required for CMPC. They must acquire a supervisor/mentor from the Registry of Approved Mentors in order to complete the supervised practice hours. Apprentice members must hold liability insurance that can be obtained through CSPA providers, Mitchell & Abbott, or another organization offering a minimum of $2,000,000. A member can maintain apprentice membership for a maximum of 3 years.

Annual Membership Dues: $95 CAD

02  Academic

CSPA academic members are individuals with a master's or doctoral degree from an accredited institution working as professors and/or researchers in a field related to sport psychology (e.g., exercise and sport science, kinesiology, psychology, counseling).

Application Fee: $50 CAD

Annual Membership Dues: $65 CAD

04  Student

Student members are students or young professionals who have an interest in applied sport psychology and who may be training towards achieving the membership requirements with the CSPA. A student can maintain student membership up to 1-year post graduation.

Annual Membership Dues: $50 CAD
